LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify risk factors associated with heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) in the hospital setting and apply this knowledge toward guideline adherence for accurate HIT options
  • Review the most recent guidelines for the early recognition and accurate diagnosis of HIT and demonstrate an awareness of the current recommendations surrounding management options
  • Utilize practical tools for raising HIT awareness and improving its management in the hospital setting
